Ghost nets are abandoned, lost, or discarded fishing nets made from synthetic fibers that are left drifting in the world's oceans.Ghost nets entangle and kill marine creatures like sea turtles, dolphins, fish, sharks and seabirds. Aly will provide a variety of colourful ghost net ropes collected with rangers on remote beaches in Arnhem Land. Recycled bottles are also provided or bring your own water or glass bottle to weave around. This class is suitable for beginners but also an opportunity for those with experience to extend their practice.
