.
The Cyanotype process is an alternative photographic process invented in the 18th century . I placed wind fallen mangrove leaves onto recycled paper painted with the photo sensitive cyanotype chemistry. The paper turns a beautiful blue, and the spirit of the leaves is captured. Plant pigments from Eucalypts are painted and poured around the blue so as to imitate and celebrate the colours of the sea and coastline in my favourite places. From the oranges and reds of the rock pools and cliffs to the sparkling blues of the sea and sky. Weaving the tragic tale of sea life in the plastic age. Lamenting the impact of marine debris upon remote coastal communities and landscapes .
